Bude Town
Football Club have, since 2000, been working hard to turn the club in to
one of the most advanced, modern and successful clubs in the South West.
With the help of many volunteers the club are today in an advanced stage
to redevelop the whole ground to include a brand new grandstand with
integrated changing facilities, social club, and disabled access and
viewing, an increase from one to two full size pitches, with the main pitch being
floodlit. This will in turn provide the senior and youth teams with a
sports facility to be proud of. Recently attaining Community
Club Status and Charter Standard Award, and with 8 youth teams involving
over 140 kids and 3 senior teams, the club have outgrown the current
facilities which have been suitable for over 100 years. The club now
need a new facility to cope with the growing demand in the area and
believe this will soon be achieved.
Planning
permission has been granted for the new facilities. The final plans
have been discussed and agreed by the committee and these plans have gone
in to the appropriate authority to see if we can receive the appropriate
grant required to achieve our objective. It's not known how long
this process will take but the club hope to start the redevelopment within
the next 12 months.
February
06 Update. Plans have gone out to contractors to see how
much exactly the project is going to cost to build. We should
hopefully have some quotes coming in by the end of the month. If
they are adequate, we will then have to see what funding is available and
what we have to raise ourselves towards the project
May 06
Update. Contractors seem to be taking their time coming back to
the club with prices as its pretty much the same as the Feb update.
We are still currently awaiting all quotes back from contractors.
Hopefully this will start pushing along soon.
July 06
Update. Most of the estimates have finally come in,
but we are still awaiting final estimates from a couple of companies.
These are currently being chased up.
November
06 Update. All tenders are finally in.
The club have now got in Contact with the Cornwall FA along with the
Football Foundation to take the next steps.
Further developments will be added as soon
as we know anything.
