Youth Teams

The youth teams are the future of the club and we currently have 8 youth teams, and over 100 children playing over all age groups from under 6's up to under 15's.  We have a number of volunteers who spend their valuable time making all this happen which includes over 14 FA qualified coaches. This has also helped the club receive the 'Charter Standard Award' and 'Community Club Status' from TheFA, one of only a handful of clubs in the county. The club have also won the Access Sport ' Sports Club Of The Year' award.  The club currently have the 3rd largest youth set up in the country. Got any youth news, let me know my emailing the site at webadmin@budetownfc.co.uk

2Bude Under 18's win Rathbone Trophy7/4/08.   The Rathbone Cup is coming to Broadclose after the under 18's team destroyed a strong looking Millbrook team. After going one nil down Bude started to relax and play some decent football, Billy Hopcroft equalising and paying tribute to the injured Matt Warburton with a specially made t-shirt, Stevie Box then took the lead for Bude and celebrated with a dodgy somersault.  Hopcroft increased the lead early in the second half and as Millbrook were reduced to 10 men, Glen Bickle headed in at the back post from the resulting free kick, Hopcroft grabbed his hat trick from the penalty spot on the second time of asking to finish off a superb Bude performance.  Celebrations continued back on the bus, back at the Kiss and then in to the night back at Hopcrofts' house. Got to be done. Well done boys you truly deserved that cup.

14/4/08.   The Rathbone Cup final which the Under 18's will be in against Millbrook is to be held week on Sunday, 27th April and will be played at Liskeard with a 2.30pm kick off. Hopefully a big crowd will be going down to support the boys.

Scorer Glen Bickle9/3/08.  The Under 18's managed by Adrian Warburton have beaten Foxhole in the Rathbone Cornwall Cup semi-final in a one-nil victory. After Billy Hopcroft had missed an early penalty, Glen Bickle (right) scored when Bude were awarded a second penalty.  Bude will now meet Millbrook who beat Truro in the other semi final two-nil.  The dates and venue will be announced soon.

Well done boys and good luck in the final.

27/1/08.  The Under 18's are through to the county semi final after beating Illogan two nil in the quarter final with goals from Jordan Dunn and Billy Hopcroft.  In the semis they will be meeting one of the favourites in Foxhole Stars on Sunday 2nd March with a 2.30pm kick off at Broadclose.

29/4/07.   Emotional Under 16's lose on penalties in cup final.
The Under 16's travelled to St.Blazey for the Luke Cup Cornwall final and narrowly lost in a penalty shoot out.  The team who had a good following from Bude matched their Helston counterparts and were 2-1 up before Helston equalised towards the end of the game taking it in to extra time. No goals after the extra period meant penalties and in the end they lost out with players looking very emotional. It was difficult with most of the boys having to play games the previous day and some of them with only 10 men in their team.  Well done to the boys anyway for even reaching the final and the future of the club looks good with such a good bunch of you lads coming through.

25/2/07.  The Under 16's are through to the Cornwall cup final after beating Torpoint comfortably 6 goals to one.  Goal scorers were Billy Hopcroft 2, Scott Wilson 2, Wes Pugh with one and Jordan White with one.  They know met Helston in the final after they beat Polkerris in the other semi 2-1.
