League Match
Hartland 0 Bude
5
Budes only previous clean sheet
this season was back in September when they beat Hartland at home and
they repeated the score line again with a depleted side. Going
down the hill and with the bitter wind behind them Bude dominated the
first half but should have had more to show for it. They produced
shot after shot but couldn't find the back of the net. The
deadlock was broken after 25 minutes, Keith Feltham cut in from the
right and from 20 yards struck a low shot in to the bottom right corner.
Soon after Steve Thompson came close striking the cross bar, various
other chances went begging throughout the half. The start of the
second half and Budes' hard work finally started to pay off, 5 minutes
in Jordan White put in a low cross from the right and a Hartland
defender slid in to put the ball back in to his own net. Hartlands'
resolve finally collapsed as Bude soon scored another three, John
Clayton was put through on goal to score Budes' third, the ageless Dave
Ward grabbed Budes' fourth, a chip over the defence on to the chest of
Ward who brought it down well and struck it superbly in to the corner.
White scored Budes' fifth being put through on goal and lifting it over
the advancing keeper late in the game.
