Reserve Team Match Report

Match report for reserve team fixture

Launceston Cup

Bude 5    Stratton 1

This anticipated local derby started off fairly even with both teams looking to gain control.  After 15 minutes Budes' Stevie Thompson received the ball in the Stratton box, turned and squeezed his shot inside the right hand post and against his former side. Thompson then doubled Budes' lead soon after curling a shot from outside the box in to the top right hand corner.  Bude were now on top and didn't let up as they extended their lead after 35 minutes, John Allen earned himself some room 25 yards out and wont hit a sweeter shot all season as it arrowed in to the top left hand corner.  Bude made it four on the hour, defender Phil Constaple scoring from a knocked down corner.  Stratton pulled one back, a goal kick was flicked on by a Bude midfielder, the Bude defence stood still and watched as Nick Purcell reacted to run and chip the ball past keeper Bob Freestone. There was still time for another Bude goal though as striker John Clayton wrapped the game up with a well taken strike.
