League Match
Bude 7 V
Landkey 0
Bude recorded just their second
league win of the season but won in emphatic style against a Landkey
side also struggling at the wrong end of the table. Bude were in
complete control throughout the first half, but like many of their
recent games they weren't finding that bit of luck in the final third.
After 40 minutes though Bude were dealt a bit of luck. Winger Jason
Stewart out on the right, didn't look like he had much on, but got a
cross in, but his cross turned in to a shot as it dipped over the keeper
in to the far left corner of the goal. The second half was all one way,
a ball played across the six yard box after just 5 minutes saw Steve
Hackett smash his shot in to the roof of the net from 2 yards out. Budes
Steve Thompson was brought down in the box and Stewart tucked the
penalty kick away for his second. A well placed header from striker John
Clayton gave Bude their fourth before Hackett got his second cutting in
from the left hand side and placing his shot inside the near post. The
best goal of the game came after 85 minutes when Gary Hodgson played the
ball out wide to Stewart, he quickly played it in to the feet of Matt
Pepperell on the edge of box who picked out a square pass to Clayton and
his first time shot from 18 yards nestled lovely in to the bottom left
corner. Landkeys miserable day was summed up when a defender
kicked the ball back in to his own net right on the final whistle.
