The visitors were the better team in the opening 15
minutes but it was Bude who took the lead on 20 minutes, a long kick
from keeper Phil Constable dropped to Steve Thompson and the ball shot
off his foot without him really knowing much about it and it and past
the stunned keeper who was left flat footed on the edge of his box.
Within minutes Bude went two up, John Clayton got brought down just
inside the box and Jason Stewart scored from the spot.
Equalizers pulled one back after 35 minutes when a Chris Smales low
drive went under the body of Constable. Some dodgy defending early in
the second half brought the game level with Wayne Parkhouse getting in
behind the defence and scoring, Parkhouse soon had a second, again the
defence making it to easy and when given the opportunity he took it.
Bude equalised in the 85 minute with Thompson smashing the ball in to
the roof of the net from close range. With minutes left Thompson
and Clayton both had good chances to take the three points but Bude
had to settle for the one point.
