Friendly Match
Kilkhampton 3 Bude Reserves 2
Against higher league opposition
again Bude deserved something out of the game although in the first half
Bude did not look as sharp as they did in their opening friendly at
Moostow, Down the slope it was Kilk who took the lead mid way through
the half when a cross from the right was knocked low across the box and
Dave Youldon arrived late to knock it in. Budes' strikers at times
were left stranded up front and chances were few and far between. They
had a couple of chances from corners with Mark Hodgson putting a free
header wide and another strike was cleared off the line. Bude made
various changes at half time and they soon equalised when striker Keith
wiggled his was past the home defence and struck low past the keeper.
They started to dominate some of the play and took the lead when a ball
played in to James from Bromell was flicked across the edge of the box
and Josh Kerslake turned and struck sweetly for Budes second. Kilk
got themselves back in the game and were soon level again getting back
in behind the defence and scoring. Kilk re-took the lead after 75
mins when a long low strike went under the arms of keeper Bob Freestone
at the near post. A foul from defender Josh Allen gave Kilk a
penalty late on and Freestone made amends by saving the penalty.
