Bude FC 2010/11 season winners4/6/2011. End Of Season Presentation Evening.

There was a great attendance of 95 at the Bude Football Club end of season dinner, dance, and presentation evening which again was held at Bude Golf club. After a superb two course meal and a quick fundraiser with red card/yellow card we got on to the trophy presentations. Best Supporter went to Les Cornish for his continued support of the teams and contribution towards the new clubhouse awning. Behind the scenes Gary Westlake has done so much work this season and this saw him collect Club Person Of The Year. Supporters Player was made and presented a few weeks ago to Tommy Statton and again he was acknowledged on the night. Under 16 Player was Sean Thomas and Most Improved Player went to Adam Smith.
Aaron Westlake, the ladies manager made his teams speech which included him announcing he was stepping down from his managerial position. The ladies awards saw Sarah Badham win Top Goal Scorer, Managers Player was Reanne Westlake, Most Improved was Zoe West and Player Player couldn't be split and went to both Leanne Stanbury and Bryher Smeeth.
The third team manager Ian Adams speech included 'How many penaltys had been missed by the team this season?' (more than was scored!), his awards saw Adam Smith collect his second award of the night for Managers Player and Players Player went to Darren Statton.
Luke Francis became the second team manager late in the season and his speech included an hilarious, maybe 'close to the line' poem about the club, players and Ollie Smiths dog. He also said how he won the Sweet Cup with his final game of the season. His individuals awards saw Darren Clayton collect Managers Player and Charlie Watton was crowned Players Player.
First team manager Ian Marks told how a very promising season turned to disappointment towards the end of the season which included losing in the final of the league Supp Cup but confirmed the team would look towards a Peninsula League push next season. First teams Players Player was a close call but went to young Liam Sandercock who had battled back from a broken leg to feature this season.
Richard Pinkus announced the final award which was Club Player and deservedly went to Ian Adams for his youth work, third teams player/management and general work around the club. A superb evening was finished with James Bromells' disco (thanks James) and a few alcoholic beverages. Many thanks to the golf club for their hospitality, Julie Hodgson for organising the evening along with Richard Pinkus. Here's to pre season, coming soon !!!

More pictures from the evening can be seen on the club page on Facebook !!

After lots of speculation ex 1st team manager Adrian Warburton has contacted Bude FC to confirm that he is NOT taking up the vacant 1st team managers position at Holsworthy FC. He confirmed that he was offered the job and although flattered to be asked and with him receiving plenty of text messages encouraging him to take it, he turned down their offer. He left as Bude manager due to his large work commitments and these commitments haven't changed. His sons Matt and Dan are looking to be both playing at Bude next season and Warby has said he will be looking forward to getting to as many games as possible and watching them play. He has said he now hopes this statement will now put an end to all recent speculation !!!!!!!

Bude entered the Sweet Cup this season which has historically always been played towards the end of the season and this year made it straight through to the final winning on penalties after the game finished 2 goals a piece in normal time. A mixture of 1st, 2nd and 3rds players gelled together to finish off the season in style, well done everyone !!

With a lack of teams entering it is being looked at becoming a pre season tournament when hopefully a much better turn out will be expected at the beginning of the 2011-12 season.

This Sunday the 1st team are playing in the Supplementary cup final. They meet Polperro who may be viewed as the underdogs being a division lower but they have been playing excellent in recent weeks and will be up to the challenge of beating Bude. The match is at the excellent playing surface of Camelford FC and is a 3pm kick off. We hope you can make it there to support Bude on!!

As a reminder your meal selections for the end of season dinner and dance should have now been given to your managers as well as your partners and the £20 pp paid. If you haven't then get in contact with your manager or you may not be at the evening on 4th June.

Horsing Around9/4/2011. Great evening had by all at Horse Race Night and '200 Club' draw.
Just to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported the football club last Saturday. An evening of betting on horses was enjoyed by everyone. The womens team made an extra effort dressing as jockeys and horses. We showed 8 races, Graham Hodgson was compare for the night, Herbie Goodgroves was the owner of the winning horses in the first 2 races so the third race everyone started betting on Herbies horse, but no it didn't come in a third time. Richard Starkey seem to have the knack betting on a winning horse in the first 5 races. Liz Hodgson was also the owner of two winning horses, one of them seeing no one back it, so an extra £20 was added to the prize for the winning horse in the last race. The final race saw the audience becoming owners there and then by bidding the highest. A winning syndicate of Gary Dinshaw, Glen Bickle and Luke Francis (it was never going to lose with Dinshaw and Bickle buying it) watched their horse romp home and they collected a cool £100.

The April 200 Club draw for £300 Woolacotts vouchers was also made and a Mrs Carter won that. The accumulator hadn't gone all year and was up to £200 and Mary Jones was there as her number got picked out and collected her prize after.

Thanks again for everyone coming, over £300 was made on the horses plus whatever was taken behind the bar so was all good for the club. There are more pics of the night on the Bude FC Facebook page so check them out.

Horse Race Night Bude Town FC24/3/2011. Horse Race Night on Grand National Day.
Put this in your diarys now everyone!! We are hosting a Horse Race Night at the football club on Saturday 9th April with a 7.30pm start. It's the same day as the Grand National.

The evening will include 8 horse races (on the TV screen, not the pitch) with 8 horses in each race. Before each race you will have a chance to bet on any horse you like in that race, each bet is £1. If that horse comes in you will win money back !!

You can also own a horse before the evening in any of the first 7 races, it's just £2 to own a horse, if your horse comes in you win £8, easy. There is a list on the wall at the clubhouse, think of a name for your horse, write it against the race you want and put your own name next to it. Just hand your money in behind the bar.

The horses in the final race of the night will be auctioned off on the night to the highest bidders with more cash up for grabs. Various other games will be played during the evening.

If you're in the Bude FC '200 Club', then the April draw for £300 Woolacotts vouchers will be made during the evening along with the accumulator draw which is now up to £200, to win the accumulator you must be at the draw !!

23/3/2011. End of season dinner n dance date.

For players, your managers will soon have a list to note down who's coming and you will need to decide what you will eat as there will be a choice. Your £20's will need to be paid to the managers at least 2 weeks before the dinner as we have to give the golf club exact numbers of who's coming, we wont be collecting money after this time.

For non players/wives etc, please speak to Julie Hodgson who will collect everyone else's names and collect monies.

10/6/2010.   The World Cup is here and other dates for your diary..
The World cup is finally here and all the England games are going to be shown at the club starting this Saturday 12th against the USA, 7.30pm KO.  With certain pubs in the area not accepting kids during games, we definitely welcome all families and children to enjoy a great atmosphere at the clubhouse. Saturday will also see Junes 200 Club draw being made during the game.

Englands other group games are on Friday 18th against Algeria again 7.30pm KO and finally away to Slovenia on 23rd with a 3pm KO.  Englands will obviously be playing another 4 games after this but the exact dates wont yet be known except that the final against Spain will be on Sunday 11 July.
