6/2/06.     First team deducted points for cancelled Christmas game

The first team failed to fulfil a fixture against Sticker on Christmas Eve 05 and the Duchy league have given the club a £ 50 fine, the game has been awarded to Sticker and the team have also been deducted 3 points from their tally, (so a possible 6 pointer).  This fixture was the only Premier League game arranged for the Christmas Eve date, the game was cancelled in good time, due to players being away because of  the Christmas period, and the club were happy to rearrange an alternative date which suited Sticker.  The two sides have also played 4 or 5 more games than a lot of the teams in the league so it's not like three's going to be a fixture pile up.  The league obviously didn't get what they wanted for Christmas, so felt they would dish out some presents of their own.

28/1/06.     HAPPY 21st Birthday Herbie

Current reserve team captain Herbie Goodgroves celebrated his 21st birthday at the football club this Saturday.  The club was packed as they watched Herbie transform 'in to adulthood' as he put it.  A great night I'm sure was had by all, but I assume Herbie cant remember a lot of it.  Hope you had a goodun Herbs.  Happy adulthood!!

14/1/06.     Reserve Team Cup Win And Ladies Go Through On Penalties

The reserve team played Torrington Admirals and beat them 2-1 with goals from Herbie Goodgroves and Jack Peters.  The ladies team had an even closer match, losing the game in 90 mins but drawing 5 each on aggregate and then 6 each after extra time.  Penalties came and the Bude girls held their nerve to put themselves through to the next round.  The 1st team didn't have as good a weekend losing at home against table toppers Lanreath 3-1 in the league.

4/1/06.     HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!     More To Come From This Site

We hope everyone got everything they wanted for Christmas and had a great new year.  Very little action on the football front over the Christmas period so very little to report on.  The reserve team beat Hartland 2-1 on Christmas eve to see them continue their great run, unbeaten now since mid November.  The first team seem to go hot and cold winning and then losing, but they are still up there with the leading pack, but they need to start putting a string of results together.  The ladies team are doing excellent, currently third in their league and will be looking to push on in the second half of the season.  The youth continue to develop well including the under 15's who are currently unbeaten in their league.

A couple of extra added to the site.  As you can probably see I've added the premiership latest headlines on this page and also the homepage.  The homepage also has a 'Question Time' section, where I will put a different question up at different points during the season on different subjects, and you can vote with your answer right now and see the current results, the current question being about the relocation of the club, maybe controversial, but it's all supposed to be a bit of fun.

Hopefully the site will continue to be developed with extra things added over time, it's only been running since the beginning of this season and it's starting to take shape and will hopefully continue to, with everyone's help.  Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season G.H

21/10/05. JUNIOR CUP EXIT!  1st Team Are Eliminated From Cup Due To Unregistered Player.

The 1st team have just found out that they will not be playing in the 2nd round of this years main club competition, the Junior Cup after an unregistered player was involved in the 4-1 win over St.Merryn. Somehow the teams left back Jamie Hopcroft had not signed the registration form which is required for the competition.  The Cornwall FA could easily have seen that the team were not trying to deliberately bring in a player from elsewhere, Jamie has been a regular in the squad for the last 3 years, and has played in every league and cup game this season. Suppose rules are rules.  It's a shame as the squad were confident in doing well in this cup and it now sees one of the favourites eliminated.  It looks like St.Merryn have now been reinstated and will be playing away to Delabole in the 2nd round on 5th November. It's common sense on the organisers part, or lack of it in this case !!

7/05.  Dean Davis continues as reserve team manager for the new season.

Last seasons reserve team manager Dean Davis has agreed to become the manager again for the 05-06 season.  Due to other commitments Dean decided he could no longer put in the 100% time and demands required for a reserve team manager all by himself, so had to reluctantly  resign from the position.  After no joy from advertising the position and some persuasion, the club are delighted that Dean has agreed to continue the post of reserve team manager with the help of new assistant Jock Mitchell and are looking forward to a promising season.

7/05. Clive Cornish named as New 1st team manager for season 05-06.

After a season with possibly 5 different managers through the season, Bude are pleased to announce the new 1st team manager will be Clive Cornish.  With the help of Steve Bickle, they have assembled a new squad for the coming season and hope to have some stability for the players as they face the challenge of seeking promotion at the 1st attempt from the Duchy Premier League back in to the East Cornwall League.  Experienced Simon Chadwick has been brought in to bolster the team and will also be responsible for the senior teams weekly training sessions.  Clive has also brought in Bradworthys 'player of the year' Gareth Martin to bolster the defence and also the young left foot of Jason Ferrett has returned from Holsworthy.  With the youngsters progressing well at the club, things are looking good for a successful season.

5/05.  1st team relegated from East Cornwall Premier League on last game of the season.

Bude 1st team have been relegated from the East Cornwall Premier League on the last game of season.  With a month to go Bude looked like they were automatically going to be relegated being six points adrift at the bottom, but after losing just once in their remaining six games pulled themselves out of relegation above Nanpean and Roche. Nanpean (1) and Roche (2) had games in hand over Bude.  Roche won their final two games which put them clear of relegation and re-election which left Nanpeans one remaining game.  2 points behind Bude, Nanpean had to win, playing their final match at home against Camelford.  They also brought in five St.Blazey 1st team players and a Truro City 1st team player to bolster their chances.  A gutsy Camelford performance saw Nanpean win the match one nil which saw Bude finish bottom and relegated from senior football and in to the Duchy Premier League for next season. Nanpean were re-elected back in to the East Cornwall Premier League.
