Bude 1    Totnes & Dartington 3

 

Bude played Totnes at home in the Pat Sowden Trophy.  An abysmal second half
by Bude gave the visitors a well earned victory beating Bude 3-1.  In almost
gale conditions Bude elected to play against the wind first and worked hard
to come in at the break 1-0 up. There should have been more home goals and
spirits were high but pride comes before a fall and Totnes proved to want
the win more as they reduced Bude to an embarrassing display throughout the
remainder of the match.  The first goal resulting from a goalmouth scramble,
the second a nice lofted shot from the right wing and the third from Totnes
playing one-two's around a very static home side.  Bude are capable of
playing extremely nice football but need to learn to keep focused if they
are to achieve their full potential.
