Bude travelled to Totnes to
play only their second league game in 3 and a
half months. In near prefect conditions both sides began with some
nice
play however it was the home side who took the lead when their number
11
managed to turn her marker and place her shot into the far corner.
Bude
responded well, a spell of attack seeing Leanne Stanbury shoot under
the
keeper to level within minutes. Continued pressure from the visitors
saw
both Leanne Clayton and Anita Symons come close but the second goal
came
from a free kick in the box. Gemma Smith placing perfectly into the
left
corner to take the lead. Anita Symons was unstoppable up the left
wing and
made several driving runs - with Totnes under pressure it was only a
matter
of time before another goal and it was Sarah Badham who made it 1-3
for
Bude - Badz latching onto a perfect knock from Leanne Stanbury.
Totnes
battled on and dominated play for the last 5 minutes before the break
-
their persistence was rewarded as they won the tussle in the box and
scored
to make it 2-3 at half time.
The second half was much the same as the first with an even battle
ensuing -
Nikki Cornelius was resolute at left back for Bude and denied many a
home
chance, and Sarah Badham was a dynamo in central midfield. With
Totnes
tiring Bude took advantage and yet another run from Anita Symons
resulted in
a well deserved goal. The visitors were still goal hungry and were
unlucky
not to increase the lead with Badz and Leanne Clayton having several
chances
untaken. For the last 10 minutes Bude bombarded Totnes and the
visitors
made if 2-5 when a corner flew through to the far post and Badz was
first to
meet the loose ball and fire in to finish the match
