Bude travelled to Morley Rangers on Sunday 6th Nov.
In lovely conditions,
Bude fielded a strong and determined squad and it showed as they
dominated
from the start. Steph Haydon defended by example and with Leanne
Stanbury
and the 2 Bry's in her line, it was a huge task for Morley. Bude
should
have gone ahead several times in the first half, Anita Symons
controlled the
left wing, Sarah Badham made some excellent crosses that were just
sent
wide, and the Morley keeper showed safe hands from many other one on
one
chances. Against the run of play, the home side scored first, a
strong
driving run from Chynna Evans finding the net. However Bude kept
focused
and it was another Badham corner that was headed in by Dani Salt to
level.
Full of spirit Bude looked lively and some neat play from Leona
Marsh,
Lindsey Ubly and Bryher Smeeth was admired from the crowd.
The second half remained with Bude and it was a Bryonie Lapham cross
that
was taken down and placed by Sarah Badham to take the lead. Tegan
Nichols
kept battling for Bude and further chances were created and almost
celebrated. However, Morley broke through once more and although
dubiously
offside, Evans made it 2-all through sheer tenacity. Bude wanted
this win
and drove on, with 5 minutes to go another Badham cross found Mandy
Bickle
unmarked and her left foot shot sealed the win 2-3.
