Having played
some good football throughout the match Bude were very disappointed
to lose 0-1 against Saltash. A very even battle saw all 22 players
working hard for the full 90 minutes despite many not being 100%
fit. Half way through the first half Bude were dealt a hard blow
when they had a goal disallowed as it was deemed not to have crossed
the line but they kept attacking and forced some sturdy defending
from the Saltash back four.

Sarah Bryant and Steph Hayden had their work cut out with the Ashes
pacy wingers but they stepped up to the challenge and denied the
visitors' chances. Bude's Leona Marsh stepped into Dell
Birkenshaw's boots in central midfield - working tirelessly she
managed to be in several places at once! Despite further home
attacks Bude could not find the net and it looked like being a
goalless draw however a goalmouth scramble saw the ball fall to
Saltash's Steph Warren who fired home. Bude threw everything at it
for the last 10 but it was not to be.
