League Match

Bude 0  Plymouth Argyle 4

Bude played Plymouth Argyle reserves at home on Sunday 22nd August.  In
hot conditions the home side knew this was going to be a tough test and
from the whistle Argyle put Bude under pressure.  Despite repeated
attacks the home side kept calm and managed to keep it goalless until
about 20 mins in, but a spell of Argyle attack saw them triumph as they
scored 3 more in quick succession.  Paula Pearce (2), Steph Venn and
Danii Moody the scorers.

It looked as though Bude were down & out when Argyle were awarded a
penalty, but keeper Lizzy Jenkins saved just before the break.

The second half saw a much better performance for Bude, improved
communication and determination enabled them to block out any Argyle
attack, Leanne Stanbury and Leona Marsh working every inch of the home
pitch.

The fresh legs of Anita Symons and Leanne Clayton spurred Bude on and
the home side created their own chances, unfortunately finding the
Argyle keeper instead of the back of the net.

Argyle's Kat Marment posed a real threat to Bude, but the defence held
strong, with Corrine Salt making some fine well timed tackles in the
box.  New full backs Reanne Westlake and Zoe West did well in their
first full 90 mins under pressure.

A heavily disputed penalty was awarded to Argyle late in the second
half, only for keeper Jenkins to save again and the match finished 0-4
