Newquay ladies showed great character to win this game after going 3-0
down in the first 20 minutes, but once they settled they were on top
for the rest of the game. Lizzie Jenkins opened the scoring from 40
yards on 46 seconds, Lucy Olde scored direct for a corner for the
third time this season, Dani Salt made it 3-0.
On 25 minutes a great header from Newquay's Tamsin Keat flew in the
back of the net, followed by a volley on the edge of the area by
Kirsty Dunleavy. Then on 40 minutes 14 year old Amber Grose got the
equaliser after weaving past three players. The second half started
and Newquay again took control and on 75 minutes got the long awaited
winner with a strike from Tamsin Keat which found the corner of the
net to make it 3-4. With five minutes remaining a goal by 14 year old
Rebecca Wilton sealed the victory which puts Newquay top of the
league.
