Ladies Team Match Report

Match report for ladies team fixture

Bude Town 6-0 Mullion

Bude overcame the early loss of their striker to defeat injury-hit Mullion 6-0 and go top of the Jaipur Cornwall League. Leanne Stanbury volleyed in a Lucy Olde cross for the only first-half goal, whilst Mullion battled well for the first 40 minutes and looked like the stronger team. But Dani Salt doubled the lead on 55 minutes, after a good one-two between Leona Marsh and Sarah Badham, as Bude assumed control. Salt made it 3-0 and Lizzie Jenkins added a fourth when a corner was not cleared. Bude's Jo Timmins made an outstanding save from Emma Hurworth before Jenkins set up Salt's hat-trick and Stanbury chipped in the sixth goal. Emma Cheetham was lost to injury after 70 minutes, worsening Mullion's injury problems. They play again in three weeks time, so hope to replenish their team.
