Bude played Marazion at home on Sun
11th November. The visitors came to Bude looking for their
first league points this season and were in a defensive mood.
With most of the play concentrated
down the middle it was an even battle for the first half with chances
at both ends, Bude keeper Sandra Gosling denying Linda Van den Bergh
and Marazion keeper Jane Wills outstanding in the visitors goal.
The second half saw Bude pile on the
pressure with shots from Anita Symons and Katie Horstmann going wide,
Lizzy Jenkins having shots saved by the keeper and Dell Birkenshaw
shooting just over the crossbar. Bude pushed on, looking for the
winner and most of the play remained in the Marazion half but the
visitors kept everyone behind the ball. Katie Horstmann and Leona
Marsh played some pretty football down the right but stout defending
by Carol Allen cancelled it out.
Anika Kearey and Carly Jacka worked
well for the visitors and managed to set Van den Bergh free but
Gosling made a fine save to keep it goalless.
