Ladies Match Report

Match report for ladies team fixture

Bude Town 6-0 Liskeard

Bude entertained Liskeard and took an early lead after 5 minutes with a great shot from 40 yards by captain Lizzy Jenkins. The remainder of the first half was an even battle with chances for both teams. Bude came out more determined in the second half and Dani Salt made it 2-0 10 minutes in. Some great teamwork from the front pair enabled Dani to get her second shortly after. An injury to centre back Anne Hill meant that captain Lizzy Jenkins moved to defence in the second half and proved her diversity well. As a result Lucy Olde took the corners and the fourth Bude goal came straight from her first take. Just to prove that this was not a fluke she did this again 10 minutes later from the opposite corner.
At 5-0 Bude were in complete control of the game with increasing attacks in the Liskeard area. With 5 minutes to go Lucy Olde was brought down at the top of the box and awarded a penalty. Liskeard disputed the refs decision and their unfortunate response resulted in 3 players (Helen Kingscott, Sabrina Preston, Becky Evans) being sent off for foul and abusive language at the referee. Lucy Olde converted the penalty to earn her hat trick and the match finished 6-0.
