Bude 4-0 Hayle
Bude played Hayle in the Jaipur League Div 1 on 9th April. The
home side started well and the first 15 minutes saw plenty of
Bude chances. Sarah Badham worked tirelessly and a superb ball
from Captain Lizzy Jenkins was taken well by Sarah who fired
home from the right wing. Bude increased the lead shortly
after when Dani Salt reached high with her left foot to slam
the second into the roof of the net. Hayle created their own
chances and keeper Lisa Wilson was called upon to make some
brave saves to keep the clean sheet. With a 2-0 lead at half
time Bude could not afford to relax and their spirit showed
with Anne Hill powerful in central defence and Lizzy J winning
the midfield battle with Hayle playmaker Kirsty Jenkin. With
all of the pressure Bude increased the score line to 3-0 when
a perfect Sarah Bryant pass found Sarah Badham who flew past
the Hayle defence and coolly side stepped the keeper to tap in
with her left foot. The home side continued the attack with
full backs Claire Gifford and Leona Marsh pushing on. The
Hayle keeper saved a multitude of shots as Dani, Katie, Lucy
and Lizzy bombarded the Hayle goal. Lorraine Stanbury came
close - shooting just inches wide of the right post. With just
1 minute to go a Bude corner saw a Hayle defender head into
her own net and the match finished 4-0
