Bude played league leaders
Falmouth town at home on Sunday 18th sept. In blustery conditions
Bude decided to play with the wind first and this gave them a real
advantage against their under strength opponents. Sarah Badham
carried on her spirit from last week and this paid off when she
opened the scoring for the home side. Leona Marsh doubled the
score shortly after guiding the ball across the line just to be
sure! With Bryher Smeeth and Lizzy Jenkins holding the middle, Bude
distributed well. Keeper Lisa Cornish made the third home goal, her
on target goal kick just brushed in by superstriker Tegan Nichols.
Captain Marsh made it 4-0 before the break by pouncing on a
rebounded shot on goal.
Against the wind for the second half Bude had to up their game and
this they did. Stout defending saw Steph Haydon and Bryonie Lapham
dominate and great composure from Zoe West and Reanne Westlake
frustrated the pacy Falmouth attack.
Soaking up the pressure Bude were determined to keep a clean sheet
and keeper Cornish made some essential saves to assure this. The
match finished 4-0 to put Bude Town top of the league!
