Bude got back to winning
ways at home against Charlestown on Sunday 11th
Sept. An energised side were lively from the offset and it was
a
revitalised Sarah Badham who opened the scoring for Bude.
Playing neat
football Bude looked in control and a good link up between
Leanne Stanbury
and Leona Marsh saw Marsh fire in to make it 2-0. However,
Charlestown
pulled one back just before the break, a cross finding the top
right corner
to beat keeper Lisa Cornish. Leanne Stanbury scored Budes third
just before half time.
Against the wind, Bude knew the second half needed even more
energy and
although at times scrappy, they put all efforts into sealing the
win. Sarah
Badham and Leona Marsh continued to hassle and drive, and Bude
had several
shots on goal. Loading the midfield with 5, the visitors upped
their game
and a period of pressure saw them pull another goal back. A
nervy 20
minutes remained and Bude threw everything at Charlestown - more
neat
passing created chances and Bude relaxed as Reanne Westlake
drove through
and made a great pass for Badham to get her second. The match
finished 4-2
