Bude played Callington at
home on Sunday 15th oct. After recent good performances the visitors
were in high spirits and caused Bude problems from the start. A high
pace to the match gave Bude no time and put them under pressure but
the defence held firm until one cross just fell to Sasha Cameron to
nod in. The visiting keeper had a great game stopping chances from
Sarah Badham and Lizzy Jenkins and Bude hit the crossbar twice. A
differing second half saw Bude fight and although it was Callington
who scored the important next goal this upped Bude resolve. Piling
the pressure on Bude had chances again and again and it was Badham
who scored, her looping shot from the right wing encouraged by
keeper Lisa Cornish!! With ten minutes to go Callington sensed the
danger and it was only a matter of time, a great ball from Steph
Haydon found Tegan Nichols and she made it 2 all. With minutes to
go Bude had the winner disallowed and had to be satisfied with a
hard won but well deserved point!
