Torpoint
4-3 Bude
Torpoint had three of their regular players missing for this game,
however settled into the match quickly and had a few missed
opportunities within the first 15 minutes. Ros Jewell scored on 20
minutes with a superb lob from 35 yards, she then set up Donna Gage who
scored with a neat header beating the defender and keeper in her first
game back since suspension. Gage then took a corner that found the head
of Kirsty Lambert, who headed it into the bottom corner, her strike
partner Jo Davies doing well to duck out of the way. Bude then had a few
chances which defence and goalkeeper Zara Northey did well to clear. The
second half was a different story with Torpoint under pressure from the
kick-off. Bude scored their first within 5 minutes with Torpoint losing
their shape, Bude then grabbed their 2nd on 10 minutes. Gradually
Torpoint came back into the game putting Bude under pressure.
A fine solo goal from player-manager Mandi McCann taking the ball round
the keeper and defender to slot into the net.
Torpoint then let Bude back into the game with a late header 2 minutes
from time. The game was played under difficult conditions with a very
strong wind.
