Bude played bishops Lydeard in the Bristol
Soccerworld cup on Sunday 27th nov. A high paced even match saw
some excellent football being played, Bude worked the wings well
and Dannii Folland and Lindsey Ubly dominated midfield. Bude
took a deserved lead when Anita Symons flew up the left and
Sarah Badham chipped the keeper. Tegan Nichols came close as she
worked hard to create space but it was Badz who made it 2-0
before half time. The second half saw bishops react and despite
some amazing saves from keeper Lisa Cornish they pulled one
back. This resulted in a nervy spell for Bude but they remained
strong and although a little 'ruffled' managed to deny further
attempts on their goal.
Badz completed her hat trick and gave Bude some breathing space
when she made it 1-3 with 15 mins to go. A high energy match
that saw Bude shine as they played neat, fast and resolute
football - a well earned win.
