Bude eased through this first round tie against North
Devon Div 2 side Northside Atlantic. Dan Starkey scored the first and goal
of the game with a volley at the back post from a corner. Bude were six
nil up at half time with further goals from Steve Hackett, Tommy Statton
and Billy Hopcroft, keeper Gary Dinshaw also cheekily got on the score
sheet scoring from a penalty. The visitors never gave up throughout
the 90 minutes but Bude were too strong for them and continued the second
half the same as the first banging in another 7 goals. Tommy Statton top
scored with five goals, just behind him was Steve Hackett with 4, Billy
Hopcroft grabbed 2 for the game with Starkey and Dinhaw scoring the other
two.
