Tavistock 3      V      Bude  2

Against a team highly tipped to be amongst the promotion contenders come the end of the season, Bude had long spells of quality football on a lush Tavistock pitch.  Bude started slowly though with Tavistock dominating a lot of the opening 15 mins and took the lead when a Bude attack broke down in the middle of the park and Gary Attwood was played in early to run on and score.  As the half went on Bude started knocking the ball around more confidently and levelled the score mid way through when a corner came across for Dan Balsdon to head back across goal and Dan Middleton made no mistake tapping in from close range.  They soon took the lead with Tommy Statton scoring in to an empty net after a mistake at the back allowed Bude in.  A minute in to the second half Bude won a penalty after Dan Balsdon was brought down in the box.  Balsdon stepped up but blazed his shot well over the bar.   Tavistock equalised after 70 minutes when another error in midfield saw the home team push forward and a cross from the right picked out Attwood who headed in for his second.  With points looking to be shared Tavistock popped up with an unlikely winner.  In the last minute a speculative strike from 25 yards out from Paul Cowling saw Matt Warburton fumble and the ball bounced over the line in to the net to destroy an otherwise superb game for the young keeper.
