Nanpean  5    v      Bude  1

Both teams put out a young side but Bude were dealt big blows inside the first 20 minutes when both Dan Balsdon and Gary Hodgson were taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.  Bude had already brought a depleted squad with only the ageing Clive Cornish on the bench and at his age was forced to play for 70 mins with just nine other players.  It was always going to be a struggle, but Bude worked extremely hard and actually took the lead from the penalty spot when Dan Starkey got brought down, Tommy Statton tucking away the spot kick.  Nanpean replied well though and soon equalised when Rory Barnicle struck from just outside the box beating keeper Gary Dinshaw to the corner.  Ten men Bude though looked just as dangerous as Nanpean and produced various openings but frustratingly couldn't make anything count.  Nanpean started to make use of the extra man, after 60 mins Andy Avery crossed and found Jerry Solomon sliding at the back post to take Nanpean in to the lead.  Bude started to run out of gas which Nanpean took full advantage of and soon scored another three goals with Solomon grabbing his second and Dan Brady grabbing two late on.
