League Match
Lifton 3 Bude 1
Lifton deserved this victory against a Bude side who
were coming in to this game off a 11-1 victory over St.Newlyn.
Lifton had obviously seen this and used it as motivation as they were at
times by far the most hungry out of the two sides. Lifton opened the
scoring with a half volley struck on the edge of box giving Gary Dinshaw
in goal no chance. Bude improved slightly in the second half but
couldn't find that elusive equaliser. Lifton nearly increased their lead
when a low shot was well saved by Dinshaw who then got up to tip on to the
post. Bude equalised in the 80th minute when Dan Starkey finished
off a loose ball in the Lifton box from a corner. Lifton retook the
lead in the 88 minute when nearly pitch black, the ball fell nicely to an
unmarked striker who slotted low in to the far right corner. In the
final minute defender Wayne Cornish headed back to his keeper but got too
much on it and watched as it looped over his keepers arms in to the net.
