League Match

Launceston 0      Bude 1

Bude produced another solid display to collect 3 points and their third league clean sheet in a row. Bude had big chunks of the play in the first half especially in midfield, but weren't creating enough chances in the final third as the Launceston backline defended very well, Bude had a few half chances but their best chance fell to Tommy Statton, the ball came to him just on the edge of the box and a sweetly hit drive was matched with a superb save over the bar from Launceston keeper Matt Harris. Launceston did see a speculative cross come shot hit the Bude cross bar mid way through the half and Bude Gary Dinshaw did make a low save from a Charlie Barnes effort right on half time. Early in the second Bude took the lead, winger Wes Pugh was brought down on the right, defender Josh Allen whipped in a beautiful cross which striker Steve Hackett glanced on in to the far left corner. Young Chris Hill came on in the 70th minute to mark his first team debut for Bude but it will be remembered for the wrong reasons when after just 5 minutes on the pitch came a hard challenge which the referee deemed dangerous enough to warrant a straight red. With 10 men though Bude seemed comfortable enough and saw out the game to the final whistle.
