Holsworthy 1   Bude 1 

The first of many derbys this season against this Holsworthy side saw Bude produce a much more solid display than their previous Nanpean game.  A fairly even game with few chances for both sides, but Holsworthy were undone by a wonder goal from Steve Smeeth when he received to ball back to goal 35 yards out, turned and smashed the ball over the head of home keeper Ian Rowe. Bude dominated the first 20 mins of the second half creating chance after chance, with Tommy Statton, Wayne Cornish, Simon Chadwick and Stevie Box all coming close. A well worked move down the right though saw a Holsworthy player slip through the Bude defence and slide the ball past outcoming keeper Dinshaw.  Holsworthy came alive putting pressure on Budes backline which had to make changes because of injuries, Holsworthy hit the bar soon, and Bude slowly came back in to it and could have still won it finishing strong.
