League Cup Match
Bude 3
Tavistock 3
After some early pressure from Tavistock,
it was Bude who took an surprising lead after 15 mins when a shot was
spilled by Tavi's keeper Richard Rowe and Stevie Box reacted with a simple
tap in. Tavistock
soon replied with a Paul Cowling. A trip on a Tavi' player saw a
penalty awarded but the strike down the middle of the goal was saved by
Gary Dinshaws legs. Tavistock took the lead early on in the second
half when Cowling shot from an angle and the ball came off defender Liam
Sandercock and in to the back of the net. Bude came back again and
Chris Ward scored directly from a corner. Again Tavi' took the lead
when Luke McPherson headed in a cross from the left. Substitutes
Simon Chadwick and Billy Hopcroft came on to midway through the half to
inject some life in the Bude side and they both combined for Budes' third.
A free kick just outside the box was taken quickly by Chadwick in to
Hopcroft who was unmarked, he turned, took the keeper and drilled the ball
home.
