Bude 0
Morwenstow 0
Another early season local derby
against premier league opposition Morwenstow saw Budes' biggest crowd of
the season, and although the game finished nil-nil, there was still plenty
of action to keep the crowd happy. The game was pretty evenly
contested throughout with the young Bude side having the better chances in
the first half and Morwenstow coming on strong but missing some great
chances in the second half. Bude full-backs Glen Bickle and Liam
Sandercock were brought in to unfavourable positions but were two of the
best players on the pitch throughout, Norman Foster and Stevie Box worked
their socks off on the wings and up front Billy Hopcroft was running all
over the place keeping the Morwenstow players on their toes.
Morwenstows Matt Gilbert had great chances to put Moostow in the lead in
the second half but failed to find the target, Budes Steve Smeeth and Box
also came close for Bude. Either team could have gone away with the
spoils, but all in all a pretty fair result with talk already going around
about the return visit to Morwenstow.
