Bude rocked their visitors
with five goals in the opening 13 minutes to get back to winning ways
after two consecutive draws. Cornwall Youth striker Billy Hopcroft grabbed
the first two goals after rounding the keeper after some good slick
football from James Giodarni. Jason Ferrett made it 3-0 inside 7 minutes
with a calm finish from 6 yards and the home side just about finished off
the game after only 13 minutes when winger Stevie Box firstly slotted home
from just inside the box after a well timed ball from Tommy Statton and
then followed up this by rifling a left foot shot into the roof of the net
from a Dan Middleton cut back. In the second half Bude added further goals
from Statton (2) and then Hopcroft went on to complete his hat trick from
the spot after a Glen Bickle header was handballed on the goal line. To
the visitors credit they battled away and scored a consolation goal in the
dying minutes to deny Budes keeper Gary Dinshaw a clean sheet after
another faultless display. However it was Bude who had the last laugh when
Bickle put Hopcroft through to grab his fourth of the day and a well
deserved win for a young and improving Bude side.
