League Match
Bude 3
St.Columb Major 1
St.Columb came to Bude after a heavy
defeat against the club last week looking to avenge that loss but Bude
were soon in control and and for half an hour the defence could have gone
to sleep with the lack of action in their half. Bude were knocking it
around well and took the lead after 15 minutes when Glen Bickle was pushed
in the box and a penalty awarded. Tommy Statton put the spot kick away.
Bude were soon two nil up, when Dan Middleton headed in a back post header
and within minutes a deep cross from the right by Stevie Box picked out
the run of Billy Hopcroft who marked his return by lifting the ball over
the outcoming keeper. Bude could on and got as many goals as they
wanted but were not finishing their countless chances. The final 10
minutes of the half and Bude eased off and allowed St.Columb back in to
the game when keeper Matt Warburton brought down a striker and Wayne
Ferguson scored from the penalty sport. The second half was a fairly
even affair with Bude not looking like they had to raise their game, both
teams had few chances in the half, Box with a great chance but his close
range shot was blasted over the bar and the game fizzled out towards the
end of the game.
