Bude 2     V    St.Columb Major 1

Bude started slowly against last seasons Duchy Premier league champions and saw themselves go a goal behind after 15 mins, loose defending allowed a St.Columb player to be played in behind the Bude defence, he then cut the ball back for Lee Woods to score from the edge of the 6 yard box.  St.Columb couldn't capitalise as Bude struggled to string passes together and on the half hour mark Bude levelled when winger Jason Ferrett cut inside from the left and struck a sweet right footed shot, yes RIGHT, in to the goal.  Bude finally came alive and got on top of the game, and controlled most of the second half.   15 year old Billy Hopcroft came off the bench for his 1st team league debut and didn't disappoint as he capped it off with the winner.  Dan Blasdon collected the ball on the half way line and put Hopcroft clear of the visiting defence, Hopcroft went round the oncoming keeper and slotted in to an empty net to earn Bude all three points.
