League Match
Bude 5 Callington 0
Bude eased to a five nil win
against Callington to keep themselves in sight of the leading teams.
Bude took the lead after 15 minutes, a Jason Ferrett corner found Gary
Hodgson who headed in from close range. With youngsters Liam Sandercock
and striker Billy Hopcroft on international duty, it was makeshift striker
Dan Starkey who increased Budes lead after half an hour with a sweet left
foot strike flying low in to the bottom left corner from 20 yards out.
Callington nearly pulled one back when a long range effort struck the
right hand post. Early in to the second half Bude made it three,
James Giodarni made a run in to the box with the ball and then laid it off
in to the path of Starkey who shot early and found the back of the net
again. Gavin Cornish was forced off the field with a badly damaged
shoulder, Starkey moved back in to his more natural position at centre
back and Stevie Box was introduced up front. Box made an immediate impact
scoring Budes fourth with a deflected shot from the edge of the box.
Hodgson nearly got his second but another headed effort was ruled out for
an infringement, Glen Bickle also came close when a 30 yard strike rattled
the upright. Box though finally wrapped it up with his second just
minutes from time.
