League Match
Biscovey 2 Bude 3
Bude had
a late scare but maintained their second placed league position with this
win. Bude took a deserved lead mid way through the first half, a
Jason Ferrett through ball found striker Tommy Statton who rounded the
keeper and neatly slotted home. Budes Billy Hopcroft was brought
down twice inside the box but both times the referee turned away penalty
appeals. Hopcroft dusted himself off and got Budes second towards the end
of the half, making room inside the box to rifle a low shot in to the
bottom corner. Early in the second half Bude went three nil up, left
back Luke Potter went running forwards, played a one-two with Stevie Box
and from the edge of box beat the outcoming keeper. Bude were now looking
in complete control as they knocked the ball around with ease, but after
85 minutes Biscovey pulled one back, an offside appeal turned down,
Biscovey went down the left and put a cross into the six yard box,
with defenders retreating Budes Liam Sandercock headed an attempted
clearance in to his own net. Minutes later Biscovey reduced the
arrears further, a Steve Mooney free kick on the edge of the box was
struck low in to the bottom right corner. Luckily the ref soon blowed the
final whistle to put an end to Biscoveys late surge.
